Great Outdoors Colorado Centennial Program Grant

In March, Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) awarded Larimer County Natural Resources a grant of $1.5 million dollars for reimbursement for the Canyon Edge Open Space acquisition. The grant is part of GOCO’s Centennial Program, which invests in high-value, once-in-a-generation projects.

 

Meritorious Honors

Rangers within the Visitor Services Division received several outstanding awards in 2024, including a Unit Commendation for evacuation of residents in the Stone Canyon Fire; a Life Saving Award for actions taken to rescue a man who had fallen 40 feet in difficult-to-reach terrain; and a Distinguished Service Award for Captain Chris Fleming for 18 years of service as a Defensive Tactics and Arrest Control (DTAC) instructor for Larimer County.
